PTLLS is an acronym for – Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector
Meet our talented workshop trainers who are qualified teachers, passionate about their subject and also hold the PTLLS certificate
Alice joined us when she was working in the world of set creation for TV! This extensive knowledge made her ideal to be one of our trainers! She has worked in many areas of the Scrapstore. These include setting up the Cafe, the social enterprise ‘Crafty Corner’ and hosting our art workshops and children’s parties! More recently, she has been helping to upcycle donated wine crates for us to sell in our shop, Barty’s by upholstering cushioned lids for them.
Kate – A keen crafter and avid fun person, Kate has been with the Scrapstore since 2008. She has a wealth of knowledge in many areas of crafting such as Wet Felting & Mosaics and brings this experience to running our workshops.
Paula has supported students with additional needs, she is our Playpod mentor. Paula also volunteers at the Scrapstore in her free time.
My name is Sara. I first started helping out at Scrapstore after my daughter completed her school work experience week here in 2012
I volunteered at Make and play and then was asked to cover some sessions. My role has since expanded so that now find myself in schools and pre-school leading workshops, out in the community and leading holiday art clubs, Saturday art and crafts for children , teenagers and adults, delivering creative training sessions linked to different areas of the curriculum and helping at birthday parties.
It’s great fun and the nearest I’ll come to, to being the Blue Peter presenter I aspired to as a child. Even better, no one has asked me to jump out of a plane (yet!).
See our wide range of crafting, educational and just fun workshops for adults, teens, children and even tots.
We look for forward to seeing you soon
